Russian Post-Black Metal. Now the instrumentals are really quite something on the full version. So the only way to fully appreciate things for me is to be able to listen to both with & without vocals... :) Highly recommended!!!
Dear friends! Many of you were actively texting us, wondering if there's going to be an instrumental version for our latest album "Nocturnal Philosophy". As some of you may remember, Second To Sun begun from raw black Metal that further transitioned towards instrumental metal and only obtained vocals once again in the middle of its existence.
With that being said, I'm happy to introduce the instrumental version for Nocturnal Philosophy that contains not only specific changes in songs and their sequence, but also a new cover. This cover is a part of yet another masterpiece of art, called "Ivan the Terrible and his son on November 16th, 1581" also known as "Ivan the Terrible kills his son", painted between 1883 and 1885 by Russian painter Ilya Repin. This canvas portrays an its an episode from Ivan the IV's life when he allegedly killed his son Prince Ivan with a mortal strike in a fit of rage. However that is not the whole story. One hundred years ago, on January 16th, 1913 the painting suffered through an act of vandalism the results of which you may see on the album's cover. Having learned about the damage done to the painting, the Chief Curator for Tretyakov Gallery threw himself under the train. Another painting wrapped in mystery perfectly fitting the mood and aesthetics of my band.

From the depths of the battered earth this cathedral monolith arises to subdue the feelings of thousands of broken souls with their litanies that will make you tremble to the sound of forbidden chords that emit the melodies of Aara within So Fallen alle Tempel its black metal is from another dimension ... the Aara's bells echoes into our souls ... The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Insoutenable... Jordan Vauvert
